Obituary of Robert Brian Bridson

It is with sadness that the family of Robert Brian Bridson announce his passing on March 24, 2024, in Fredericton, NB after a long and brave battle with cancer. His story touched many hearts. Born in Albuquerque, New Mexico, USA, he was a son of Philip and Josephine (Bowers) Bridson. 

Rob graduated high school at Bathurst High School.  In 2003 he completed his Bachelor of Arts at St. Thomas University and in 2006 he completed a Bachelor of Education at the University of New Brunswick.  He had a great love for the outdoors and  in his early years he enjoyed fishing and camping.  He was a huge sports fan, and loved to watch hockey with his friends.  Rob was so honored to have been baptized and was active in Smythe Street Church, where he found a special community of friends.  Rob was diagnosed with cancer in 2022 and he bravely fought until the end. 

Besides his parents he is survived by his brothers, Joseph (Alina) and their daughter, Ava; Philip Bridson.  He was predeceased by his grandparents, Mieko and Joseph Bowers and Philip and Dorothy Bridson; uncles, Michael Bridson and Joseph Bowers.   

A memorial service will be held at Smythe Street Church on Wednesday, April 3, 2024 at 2:00 pm, with Rev. Jeremey Kitchen officiating.  For those who wish, memorial donations may be made to the St. Thomas University or to Smythe Street Church.
