Obituary of Ruby Almeda Coren
It is with profound sadness that we announce the passing of Ruby Coren on Sunday, December 20, 2020.
Ruby leaves behind her husband of 60 years, Robert Coren of Fredericton; her daughter Cathy MacDonald (Jack) of Moncton, her son Robert Coren (Dawn) of Ottawa, along with 7 grandchildren; Jill MacIntosh, Alex MacDonald, Michael Sarsfield, Kyle MacDonald, Sam Sarsfield, Kevin Coren, Anthony Coren; and 4 great-grandchildren; Matteo Bozzi, Arianna Bozzi, Chloe MacDonald, Colin Sarsfield; and her sister Janice Ninos (George) of Tantallon, Nova Scotia. Ruby was predeceased by her daughter Christine Sarsfield (Jerry) in 2018 and predeceased by her older siblings Ralph, Doris, Jackie, Audrey and Norma.
Ruby was the second youngest child of Jesse Alma (Mayo) and John Joseph Crocker, and was born in Halifax, Nova Scotia on June 5, 1936. Ruby graduated from the Victoria General Hospital School of Nursing in 1959 and married Robert Coren in 1960. Ruby worked at the Victoria General Hospital in Halifax, Nova Scotia and later at the National Defense Medical Center in Ottawa. Ruby and Robert retired in Fredericton, New Brunswick in 1995.
Ruby enjoyed lawn bowling, playing bridge, sewing, knitting, doing puzzles and spending time with family. She will be greatly and dearly missed.
