Dear Suzanne, Stephen, Matt, Nic and families,
Deepest and most sincere condolences from our family to yours. Celia reflected ‘Rick was a fun guy who knew his stuff.’ Well said. Those were Rick’s key traits that made him such a great friend. He lived an amazing life and made a positive impact on so many people. We will miss him always.
Rest easy, my friend.

i dont know where to start. I never knew Rick's family, meaning his wife , kids and grandchildren. but i have known him for over 50 years . My dad and his dad worked together at the Fredericton Airport and Sheila , Lorilee , Tracy and Rick just lived down the road and we all went to school together. A little younger but not by much. As we grew older we lost touch but i would see Tracy and she kept me up to date , with Sheila, Lorilee and Rick. To all of you i send my deepest condolences and hope Rick has caught up with his Dad and sharing some stories. Take this time to focus on the good and fun times, dont be afraid to smile or laugh if you remember something that causes you to do this. Find comfort in each other and remember each one of you is hurting and you need each other to get through this. May Rick R.I.P

To Sue and all members of the family, my deepest condolences. Around the beach courts, the Earl Doherty tournament in Sunny Corner, the softball field, Rick was that guy - the one who was always ready play hard, give or receive a teasing, and share laughs over a bevy. So very sorry for your significant loss - he will be missed by many folks.

I am still a bit stunned to hear of Rick's passing. Rick has been a stable and consistent presence in my life for over 10 years, since I returned to Fredericton and was welcomed to the Gunslingers CoEd team like I was already one of their own. Sunday CoEd and Monday night Beach was always more fun because Rick and Sue were around. Rick always knew how to have a good time, to tell a good story, to make others feel welcome. He always loved involving others, inviting people to join on their boat, making it a priority to go out for drinks and apps after vball so we could all chat and enjoy. He supported me, helped me out with fixes in my home when I didn't know how to do it myself (which I know he has done for countless others, he was so very generous with his time). He was not only a teammate, but a friend over the years, and he will be sorely missed.

Sue, Steve, Matt & Nick I am so sorry for your loss. Many of my memories growing up are with your family and I cherish those. There was no better feeling on a Friday or Saturday night than knowing we were coming to visit - especially when the karaoke machine and book of CDs were out. Rick was the kind of person you could count on for a joke and a laugh (& to teach you to make an apple martini) but who was also kind. He was truly the definition of lighting up a room and although I feel sadness and disbelief, can’t even begin to imagine how you and your family are feeling. Sending big hugs & love to you all and the rest of Rick’s family.

This is a shock that shakes our Loyalists Rugby Football Club to its our very core! Rick embodied the club values of Loyalty, Teamwork, Cooperation and Commitment. He was a stalwart among our members both on the field, and at the clubhouse, always ready to lend a helping hand and give back to the game and camaraderie of the club he loved.
Here’s to a man who will be sorely missed, who lived a good life and gave so much for the greater good! Sincere condolences to Suzanne, his family and friends. We embrace you in solidarity. Rest in Peace Rick.

I'm soooo shocked and saddened to learn of Ricky's loss. I have such fond memories of playing ball and hanging out together as teenagers while growing up in Lincoln. I remember a BBQ at your house,Tracy, sitting in front yard in our new 'Coca-Cola Classics' ball uniforms eating hotdogs. Also the many ball tournaments around the province. The biggie was our Midget Provincial Championship win in Saint John. Ricky was the BEST third-baseman, BAR NONE. You can imagine what a thrill it was for me to play ball again with him again decades later! Though it's impossible to miss him as much as you, be comforted in knowing that being a friend of Ricky's meant that you had a friend for life. I'm sure you'll hear the same from everyone he has known. RIP, pal. You're one of the best.
