Obituary of Richard Joseph MacDonald

With broken hearts, the family of Richard (Rick) Joseph MacDonald announce his passing the early morning of July 1st, 2024. Rick was born on October 4th, 1968, in Fredericton New Brunswick; he was 55 at the time of his passing.

Rick is survived by his wife, Suzanne MacDonald; his three sons, Steven MacDonald (Kira Redden), Mathieu MacDonald (Katie Jackson), and Nicholas MacDonald; his mother, Sheila Nason (Glynn); his sisters, Loralee Marsden (Roger) and Tracy Pugh (Kevin); as well as his parents-in-law, Diane and Henry LeBlanc and brother-in-law, Danny Leblanc (Jennifer). Rick was so in love with his grandchildren, Amelia Rose, Josephine Margaret, and Lucas Preston.

Rick was predeceased by his father, Dick Macdonald, and beloved granddaughter, Charlie Elizabeth.

Rick was a social butterfly, he loved being with his friends and around people in general. He cared so much for everyone around him, and he would do anything for the people he loved. Rick enjoyed traveling with his wife and exploring new places and trying fantastic food. He was happiest spending time with his grandchildren, playing with them, and watching them grow. Rick dedicated so much of his time to the Rugby club and the sport that he loved. He dedicated 28 years of his life building his company Master Applicators and working along side his longtime friend and devoted employee Tom Ryan. Rick cherished our large family gatherings, seeing the children playing together, enjoying an ice-cold beer, talking with his mother, sisters, and brothers-in-law. Rick will be missed by so many, and never forgotten.

A memorial gathering will be held at McAdam's Funeral Home on Friday, July 5, 2024, from 3:00 to 6:00 pm with words of remembrance at 3:30, with Fr. Shawn Daley officiating.

In lieu of flowers, donations in Rick's name to CMHA New Brunswick or the IWK would be appreciated by the family.
