Obituary of Stella Sansom
" A Life Well Lived Is A Precious Gift "
The queen of the Sansom family passed away peacefully on May 6th, 2022. By her side until the end were her son, David, and her guardian angel granddaughter, Megan.
She was a lifelong resident of Fredericton and very proud of it. Her family was her constant source of pride and joy. Mom was always quick to share her guidance and wisdom with them, whether it was requested or not. Her many friends provided her with the zest that fueled her longevity and quality of life. In the end, she lived life as it was meant to be lived.
She is survived by her son, David (Brenda) Sansom, granddaughters Nicole (Matt) Dawson and Megan (Karl) St-Pierre and great grandchildren, Will and Ruby Dawson and Simon and Zoe St-Pierre.
She was predeceased by her husband, Grant, in 2014 and her son, Richard, in 2009.
By request, a private graveside service was held for the family on Monday, May 9th at the Douglas Rural Cemetery. A celebration of her life will follow at a later date.
Sincere thanks and appreciation are extended to Pam Bowen and her dedicated staff at Shannex Parkland. You all helped to make her golden years sparkle.
Although Mom’s stay in hospital was short, our family was sincerely touched by the care and compassion afforded her. Bravo to the doctors, nurses and caregivers in 4SE and 3E at the DECH. Your dedication will not soon be forgotten.
Mom always shared a special place in her heart for Hospice House. It would be the family’s request that Hospice Fredericton be her designated charity of choice.
