Obituary of Priscilla Judy Lewis
Writer of jaunty jiffy jewels and lover of dragons
Early morning of summer solstice
We said farewell; she will be missed.
Born in England, lived in India and Canada
Daughter of Clifford and Mary; sister to Ewart and Robin
She chose paths not always well-trodden.
Two dragon tattoos at age eighty and a witty sense of humour
Judy was a caring soul, a nurse and midwife
She was dearly loved throughout her life.
A long career in nursing in England and BC
But for many years, here in NB, she worked in IT
Designing information systems at Extramural and NBCC.
A poet and photographer; a captain in the British Army
A writer and a wordsmith; a golf rules director
Lifelong learner; cake decorator.
A golfer, a dog lover, and a computer scientist
A traveler and reader of fiction and fantasy
She even played bridge quite affably.
Thanks to the wonderful Oromocto Special Care Home staff
And the care from Dr. Karen Van Middlesworth and Hospice House
She left us as quiet as a mouse.
Sister-in-law to Paula; aunt to Maria, Fiona and Dain
A Mom to Derek, godmother to Christopher Robin
Little Ellie, James and John she was happy to have known.
The best of friends and loving partner in life to Joan
She was loved by us all - Carolyn, Bert, Jess, Dave and Sue
Sheila, Gord, Chris, Stefan, Paige, Em, Diane, Cenk and Alec too.
Judy, from all the animals in the Chippin Court zoo,
It was a pleasure knowing you.
